The International Relations Department records consist chiefly of the correspondence of its director, Henoch Mendlesund, during his tenure from 1968-1980, and Michele Briones. Henoch Mendelsund (1911-1994) was a longtime member and officer of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU). He served as secretary of the Cloak Finishers local 9, general manager of the Cloak Joint Board, director of the International Relations Department, and head of the ILGWU Archives.
